Shirts

White and light blue work with every suit. Add pinks, lavenders, stripes and checks as your wardrobe grows.

The Rule of Scale

When mixing patterns, vary their size. A fine-striped shirt pairs well with a bolder tie, and a bold check jacket with a solid or micro-patterned shirt.

Limit the Patterns

Two patterns is easy, three takes practice. Keep at least one solid in the outfit.

Leather

Match your belt to your shoes. Brown is more versatile; black is more formal.
